Kick down on a Turbo 400 is a little single wire electric solenoid right behind the valve body inside the transmission.
The switch to engage it is either mounted on the carburetor/fuel injection throttle linkage or mounted under the dash next to/above the gas pedal.
That wire is for kick down gear or passing gear.
That wire is your kick down connection. It should be connected to a switch either on the carb or the gas peddle linkage. Applying 12 volts to that wire will activate the kick down mode.
It is for the kick down or passing gear.
yes, if yor swapping it for a turbo 350 thats already in a car or truck tou have to change the yoke on driveline, and trans mount sits furthure back, so have to mod crossmember a bit,and electric kick down.
yes a 350 turbo converter will fit a 400 turbo and vice versa
There's only one type of 400 turbo.
No it will NOT interchange. The 350 and 400 turbo are actually VERY different transmissions.
no
The 350 turbo is a good transmission but the 400 turbo will take more abuse.
Every part that is in the 400 is heaver and bigger then the 350. The 350 turbo is light duty, but can be modified to make it tuff. The 400 is already tough from the factory.
