It is on the left side of the transmission near the tail shaft. Just screws in and has two wires. Hope this helped.
park/neutral switch mazda 6 04 is just above bottom gearbox mount !
The neutral safety switch, release switch, or brake switch is bad.

neutral safety switch/ or reverse switch faulty thanks. how would i go about replacing the safety switch? is it difficult?

This is usually known as a neutral safety switch or shift interlock switch.
Check to see if the shifter is not all the way into park. If it is Your neutral safety switch my be inoperative. The remote goes through the body control module to the neutral safety switch. Good luck!
The autos do not have a safety switch....They have a sensor located in the trans itself that tells the ecu if its in neutral/park.....I believe its a 3 pin plug going into the trans itself,.....trace it and see where it leads.....You may be able to hook up a toggle switch..
