On a 2005 Ford Crown Victoria , the Mass Air Flow Sensor is in the top of the engine air filter housing just before it connects to the big engine air intake tube
It is part of the Mass Air Flow Sensor. Located at the Air Filter Box end of the Air Intake yube.
your mechanic can check the fuel pump pressure ..after that mass air flow sensor and throttle body not clean enough or failing..hope this helps

On a 1996 Ford Crown Victoria : The Mass Airflow sensor should be between the engine air filter and the big rubber engine air intake tube ( I don't know if it is inside a plastic housing like it is on my 1995 Ford Explorer but you will see where the connecting wires go inside )
