2000 - 2004 models: right on top of the air cleaner cover (that's the 'case' behind the battery). It's the thing with wiring connected to it and two cross-head mounting screws.
The 2.3L and the 2.0L 2005 models have a large air resonator housing behind the left headlight in front of the battery. The MAF sensor is locate between the resonator housing and the lower air cleaner box, which is in front of the left fender-well below the headlight (the bumper conceals it). The sensor is on the lower part of the air inlet pipe. Some recommend removing the left fender well liner, but I don't; it's just not necessary. You can see it if you look down in there. You can access it from underneath the car. Crawl up under there and reach up to disconnect the wiring, which is locked in place so you have to slide the lock away from the connection and then pull the wiring off. There are two star-head mounting screws. Remove the screws and pull it out.
