Robert Burns lived on the farm of Mossgiel near Mauchline in Ayrshire, Scotland. He moved to the farm in 1784 and lived there until 1786 when he moved to Ellisland Farm near Dumfries.
Robert Burns had a total of nine children with Jean Armour, his wife.
Robert Burns first home was Alloway, his birthplace 1759. At age 7, his father moved the family to the Mount Oliphant farm. Then in 1777, Lochlea. In 1781, Robert lived briefly in Irvine. After his father passed away, Gilbert and Robert leased Mossgiel, 1784. From there he went on to fame in Edinburgh, 1786, living in boarding houses as his fame grew. Then in spring of 1788, he married Jean Armour, they lived in Mauchline and then in 1788, he became a tenant farmer and tax collector in Dumfries, settled at Ellisland, in 1791 moved to the Wee Vennel and 1793 his final home, Mill Hole Brae.
