Anywhere but Bouffant Bay, where it is cheap. Preferably, sell medicine at Parrot Port or Golden Harbor.

Buy silk cheaply at Dragon Cove and sell for much more at Bouffant Bay.
Buy medicine cheaply at Bouffant Bay and sell for much more at Parrot Port or Golden Harbor.
Buy grain cheaply at Golden Harbor and sell for much more at the Pirate outpost.
Buy spice cheaply at the Pirate Outpost and sell for much more at Dragon Cove.

Boats are sold at the Ship Shape shipbuilders at Dragon Cove. Once you have 3000 doubloons, you can get the Jimmy Rigger to replace your raft. As you get more doubloons, you can buy larger ships, that are faster, stronger, and have more cannon. (You actually only need to salvage 1500 doubloons, as you can borrow 1500 more from the Golden Harbor Bank. Be sure to repay the loan, with interest, so that you can get larger ships.)

It took me a couple hours to get the best ship. Like a lot of people's suggestions buy cheap from one island and sell high to the next. I only sold to Parrot Port and didn't buy from there because everything was over twenty doubloons. If something is over 20 doubloons don't buy it. I first saved up $30,000 to buy that ship because then you have a ship with plenty of cargo, faster speed, and cannons. After that it takes no time at all to get money because you have so much space. Trust me, you'll get plenty of money because you can defeat creatures and sell more. Good luck! If you sell your cargo at Parrot Port (the island just right of Fort Ridely island)you can get more doubloons (money on skullduggery island)and get more doubloons.One time I almost got my cargo limit full and then,I sold all my cargo and got into the thousands with just one unit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Note that smaller ships will fill the cargo completely with just one creature. What do you do after you find the map pieces on Skullduggery Island?
Put the five pieces together, and a sixth outlying island will appear (it is named, aptly enough, Skullduggery). Not only does it appear on the maps, but you can now go there, where it was previously open ocean. The more time-consuming activity is earning doubloons by salvage or trading. The most profitable route is a clockwise one : Dragon Cove --> Bouffant Bay --> Parrot Port --> Golden Harbor --> Pirate Outpost and back to Dragon Cove. This is because each of the four cargoes has someplace where it is very cheap, and someplace where it can be sold for much more. (You can leave out Parrot Port if you like because nothing there is very cheap to buy.) Once you have the most powerful ship, the Phoenix Warbird, you can challenge Captain Crawfish. Chasing him off will let you get the Buried Treasure location from the Governor. (It is on Skullduggery, the new island, but cannot be found until then.)

You Have to be on the emerald ocean, once you are. Do /tip Amatorio (the amount of dubs). You're doubloons will be doubled instantly. You can only do this in emerald ocean as of the advantages. You can do this as much as you want - ENJOY!

You will upgrade to a larger ship several times during the game. Collect salvage from the water, especially above Dragon Cove and between Parrot Port and Golden Harbor. But beware of pirates and sea monsters. (You will lose some doubloons and cargo if you are sunk.)The first ship, the Jimmy Rigger costs only 3000 doubloons. By collecting salvage, and then trading among the islands, you can easily reach 1500 doubloons, and then borrow 1500 from the Golden Harbor bank.
