Bank 1 means the "first row" of cylinders. If the vehicle is a V6 it would have 2 "banks" of cylinders. If the vehicle has a 4 cylinder engine it has one "bank" of cylinders. Sensor 1 is positioned before the Catalyst. Sensor 2 is positioned after the catalysts. A simple answer is "It is screwed into the exhaust after the catalytic converter."
The cummins has only 1 bank, sensor 2 is the "post cat" sensor, it is located on the passenger side next to the transmission.
Bank 2 sensor 1 is the O2 sensor in the exhaust manifold closest to the firewall.Cut and paste the link below for a detailed fix with pics of the O2 sensor repair."http://polifrogblog.blogspot.com/2009/11/sienna-o2-sensor-change.html"
Bank 1 is the bank that sits closest to the front of the vehicle. Bank one is the bank with cylinder # 1. You have 4 oxygen sensors, (bank 1 sensor 1, bank 1 sensor 2, bank 2 sensor 1 and bank 2 sensor2). Follow the exhaust from the head of bank 1. The first sensor you come to is sensor 1, the second is sensor 2.
Bank 1 sensor 1 is upstream bank 1 sensor 2 is downstream
Bank one sensor two refers to the oxygen sensor. The bank one sensor two oxygen sensor is on the front side of the engine, after the catalytic converter.
Is this bank 2 sensor 1 or sensor 2?
bank 2 sensor 2 front bank after the cat
which sensor is for bank 1 sensor 1 on a 2006 nissan xterra
Bank 1 Sensor 1- driver's side exhaust pipe Bank 1 Sensor 2-right before catalytic converter Bank 1 Sensor 3- right after catalytic converter Bank 1 Sensor 1- passenger side exhaust pipe Bank 1 Sensor 1- driver's side exhaust pipe Bank 1 Sensor 2-right before catalytic converter Bank 1 Sensor 3- right after catalytic converter Bank 2 Sensor 1- passenger side exhaust pipe
The bank 1, sensor 3, O2 sensor would be the O2 sensor post cat.
bank 1 is always the head with the number 1 spark plug and the number 1 sensor is always in front of the converters closest to the motor
