Heh.. I've had to deal with this on my 97 Blazer.
It's internal. You need to drain the oil, take out the engine, drop the drain pan, and you'll see it in the rear of the block. It MIGHT be possible to do this without removing the engine on a 2WD, although I'm a bit doubtful, but you're not going to pull it off on a 4WD model.
You have the option of leaving the engine in on the 4+4 if you remove the half shafts, front diff and steering center link instead. Choose your poison.

The fuel pump for the 1994 Jimmy is in the tank.

The air pump or smog pump on a 99 GMC Jimmy is located right behind the bumper, below the radiator, and on the passenger side.
The pump is in the gas tank. Not a fun job to remove.
