There are 4 oxygen sensor on Maxima 1997. 1.- Fronto Sensor Driver Side 2.- Front Sensor Passenger Side. 3.- Two rear sensors: first one located on Catalytic Converter and other one after it.

The knock sensor is located below the intake manifold

Just locate the connector with the white cable, in the front of the Engine and it lead you to the oxygen sensor. It has to be attached to the Pre- Cat
