The eruption at Mount Pinatuba.
Mount Pinatubo is composed of andesite, a type of volcanic rock, as well as dacite. It also contains layers of lahar deposits made up of volcanic ash, rocks, and debris from previous eruptions.
Volcanoes happen when hot molten rock beneath the surface rise's up to poke through the what we think of the surface of the earth. Mt. Hood, in Oregon, Mt. St Helen's in Washington, and Mt Fujiyama in Japan are very famous examples.
