I believe only the ( 1997 ) model year of the Mercury Mountaineer had a
separate washer fluid tank for the rear liftgate . Anything newer , the liftgate
washer fluid was supplied by the front windshield washer fluid reservoir in
the engine compartment
* on the 1997 Mercury Mountaineer , you opened the liftgate and there was a fill plug just above the drivers side tail light , the reservoir was in the storage compartment where the wheel jack was located , behind the removable plastic panel , in the cargo area , near the liftgate on the drivers side
On a 1997 Mercury Mountaineer : The gas tank is under the vehicle , on the drivers side It is in front of the rear tire and runs from the rear towards the front of the vehicle
On a 2004 Mercury Mountaineer : The ELECTRIC fuel pump is INSIDE the gas tank
On a 2002 Mercury Mountaineer : The ELECTRIC fuel pump is INSIDE the fuel tank . It is installed through an access hole on the top of the tank
According to the 2000 Mercury Mountaineer Owner Guide : ( the gas tank holds 21.0 U.S. gallons )
On a 1997 Mercury Mountaineer : The ELECTRIC fuel pump is INSIDE the fuel tank ( it is installed through an access hole on the top of the fuel tank )
On a 1999 Mercury Mountaineer : The ELECTRIC fuel pump is INSIDE the fuel tank . It is installed through an access hole on the top of the fuel tank
Yes
On a 2002 Mercury Mountaineer : The electric fuel pump is INSIDE the fuel tank
The fuel pump is inside the gas tank you have to drop the tank to get it out
all the washer fluid comes from the same tank
According to the 2007 Mercury Mountaineer Owner Guide : ( the fuel tank capacity is 22.5 U.S. gallons )
There isn't any rear tank is the same one as in the front
