they are on the ns end cap of the gear box but some dont hav them so you have to drain box and fill through revese light swithch on top of the box (2.3litres)
You Have to remove the gearbox oil sump than you will see a square oil filter.
The size of the Renault mMegane Ssenic 1.6 1999 sump plug is 9mm. You can find this plug at the bottom of the gearbox.
it has not got one you have to remove gear box sump plate
The filler plug for the Chevrolet Matiz is typically located on the engine, near the oil sump or gearbox, depending on the specific model and year. It is usually a small cap or bolt that can be removed to check or add oil. For accurate location, it's best to consult the vehicle's owner manual or a service manual specific to your Matiz model.
Yes you need a Torx bit to remove the sump plug. Also be careful when you remove the sump plug, there is a O ring on the plug that may fall off. Oh by the way, alot of Astra bolts use Torx (Many manufacturers recomend that you replace the sump plug & o ring)
Ignore that rubbish I just put about 'the back of the sump', I read the Q wrong: thought it was the sump plug the Q was on about. The gearbox fill plug is towards the front of the car, on the same side/face of the gearbox (N/S) as the drain plug but about 50 - 70mm higher up. Both have a square hole for removal tool. My drain plug was very tight so, be sure to use the correct fitting tool made of good quality steel. It will help if you dig accumulated dirt out of the square holes in each of the sump plugs with a small screwdriver so as to get the maximum depth and 'purchase with the removal tool. You will find that they will be caked up a bit. I found filling the gearbox easier from within the NS wheel arch (wheel off and small plastic wheel arch panel removed). It was easier to 'jockey' the bottles of replacement gear oil and their protruding plastic filler tubes in via this route. DOOOOO cover the brake disc up and/or check after filling the gearbox that you have not dribble any oil onto the disc or pads!!!
its on the bottom of the gearbox sump. but advise this be done by specialist as it requires diagnostic equipment to get fluid to correct level and pressure else it will go into limp mode
There is a large sump plug on the front of the gearbox, this needs a torque drive (possibly 19mm) to open it, if oil drips out then it is full, if not you need to add some. Thanks
On 1998 year ,The sump plug is on the bottom of sump at the rear right.
you can find the sump plug in rover spares department.
Left valve cover, there is a black plug that unscrews 1/4 turn. Pour in your oil, allow time for the oil to collect in the sump, replace the plug. Good to change the o-ring on the filler every 12k miles or so.
Bottom of the sump?
