The 2001 Oldsmobile Aurora smog pump can be found on the left-hand side of the engine. The smog pump will be near the exhaust manifold.
The smog pump is located under the right front fender, I think you have to remove the tire to reach it. Good luck finding a replacement, if you do let me know, I am looking for one now.
Yes but you will have to change the motor mounts smog and electronics such as the ECU and fuel fomputer and possiably fuel pump because the 2.9 is fuel injected and the pump wont supply the propper fuel preassure to feed he engine..
It's just below the left headlight
I have a 1998 Mustang Cobra and my secondary AIR pump (smog pump) is located in front of the right front wheel. You might have to loosen/remove the plastic fender well liner to get to it. They are notorious for getting water in the cover that covers the smog pump motor. I'll bet yours is full of water. I have replaced mine twice and it is bad again. I recommend installing a "snorkel" hose to prevent this from happening again.
i was told after changing th e battery , had to drive for at least 50 miles.
