2001 Honda CR-V DOES NOT have an EGR valve!
The 2001 Honda Odyssey EGR valve is located on the outside of the air cleaner housing. You will find the valve, on the back of the housing.
Pretty sure the 97 Honda CRV doesn't have an EGR valve. I have a service manual for the 97 and it's nowhere to be found. I think some Civics didn't have one either.
If you have less than 80,000 on it read below. Occasional problems on this vehicle are failures of the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Valve Passages and the EGR valve (3.0L V6 engine only). Honda has extended the warranty on problems related to the EGR System to 8 years or 80,000 miles.
There is no EGR valve on a 2000 Honda CR-V. The emission system used in these vehicles did not require an EGR.
The 1989 Honda Civic is not equipped with an EGR valve.

== == First off Your Honda is really an Isuzu Rodeo, but you already knew that. These have the GM electronic egr. if you have the 3.2 motor. The only way to fix it is to replace the egr valve.
