To replace the fuel sending unit in a 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer, first, relieve the fuel system pressure by removing the fuel pump relay and running the engine until it stalls. Next, disconnect the battery and drain the fuel tank before removing it from the vehicle. Once the tank is out, remove the old sending unit from the top of the tank, install the new unit, and reassemble everything in reverse order. Finally, reconnect the battery, reinstall the fuel pump relay, and check for leaks before starting the vehicle.
You have to remove the fuel tank. The sending unit is at the top of the fuel tank.
