Hi,
Look for the serial number on the radio, it starts with a number total of 8 numbers including one letter and call Mitsubishi Motors of North America at 1 888 648 7820. They will give you your unlock code for free. DO NOT PAY ANYONE FOR THIS CODE IT IS A FREE SERVICE!!!!
To find the anti theft code for a 2000 Mitsubishi Galant, you must visit a dealer. You must have the radio serial number, the radio part number, and the VIN.
You can find it on the back of the radio (you have to take it out of the dashboard) or go to any Mitsubishi dealer and they will tell you.
The 2002 Mitsubishi Gallant radio has two fuses. There will be an in-line fuse behind the radio. There will be a radio fuse in the fuse box.

Leave the key in the "on" position for about an hour.
there is not a "generic" radio code,if you have your owners manual it will be in there,if not WELL you have to take out radio get serial # and possibly model # off radio and go to Mitsubishi and begg and pleed with them to research it for you.you can try Google search and might luck out.
I believe it's behind the radio/console area
You cannot reset a code. Take out your radio. Check the serial number on it and call Mitsubishi dealer. They will check a database and give you a code.
If the radio is still in the car, Place the ignition key inside ignition and turn it to access mode. Leave it there for about an hour. After that, the anti-theft system should disable itself by flashing the word, "code" on the radio screen. Then, re-enter code. The code card should be located with the owner's manual booklets holdster inside glove box. If you can't find the code card, you might have to go to your nearest Mitsubishi Dealer to fix the problem.
Pull out the radio and get the serial and model numbers. Then call your local Mitsubishi dealer they will give you the codes (there are multiple) you have to try several usually. You may need the VIN...
go to file manager and remove it man
Actually the anti theft device is just a metal bracket that connects to the indash stereo itself and bolts on to the inside of the stereo unit housing (way towards the back!) . It can easily be re-connected. It can even be reconnected after putting in an aftermarket stereo as well
