I think the relay you are referring to is at the top middle firewall. There will be two small relays, side by side. The one you want is on the left. It should have a large purple wire in it. Sometimes just wiggling this purple wire will give you all your forward gears back, if it's stuck in limp-in mode (2nd gear). At least it worked for me! Eventually I had to replace the relay; about $35-50.
