Where is the Battery on a Chrysler lhs 1999?

Not fun, just replaced my battery a couple weeks ago. You're going to have to take off the right front wheel and tire, and the cardboard/plastice wheel well protector sheet towards the front of the wheel well. From under the hood, you'll need to take off the air filter compartment. Just pull on it from a couple different locations...it pops in and out. You now should be able to at least see the battery. What a pain, took me two evenings after work.....one to get the old battery out, and another to put everything back together. Good luck

Yes, this is not fun. I was able to get mine out by turning the front tires to the right all the way, undoing the fasteners holding the vented front of the wheel well, removing the air cleaner assembly and sliding the battery back, removing the clamps (negative first) and pulling the battery straight up with a small amount of jiggling around. When removing the air cleaner, check for a hose attached and remove this prior to pulling the assembly up and out of the way. The air cleaner can be difficult to remove, but once all of the hoses are off, pull up, pull up and then pull up harder. It will come.

Yes i agree with the second answer i just did mine in about half hour you dont have to take the tire off just lock the wheels when turned all the way to the right and its quite simple after you get the filter off.

You have to pull up "hard" on the right side of the air filter box while pulling to right to release the 2 rubber cone shaped spindles that fit into the side of the wheel well. Don't worry you won't break the box.

Remove the battery hold down plate. If the bolts are rusted you might have to grind them

underneath the air filter box, front right (passenger) side corner of the motor bay. In order for it to be removed, remove the air filter box...or...remove the wheel, then the access cover panel in the wheel well (forward of the wheel).
It is located just in front of the front right tire. There is a plastic panel to help access it in the wheel well, but the tire must be cut all the way to the right. I recommend taking the tire off, which is what I had to do. You will also encounter a problem with the air filter housing being in the way directly over the battery in the engine compartment. Remove the air filter, unclip the filter housing, and pull upward on the housing very hard. There is a rubber grommit holding it in place. But the housing will come off. Battery should be fully visible.
