∙ 14y agoThe boot.ini file is hidden in the drive where you installed the Operating system. To see the boot.ini just goto the Folder Options then click the View button then enabled the "Show Hidden Files" and un-check the "Hide Protected File Operating System".

∙ 15y agoBoot.ini is used by versions of Windows NT prior to Windows Vista to indicate what partition the Windows kernel is on and what boot parameters to use to NTLDR, the bootloader. Advanced users can enable certain features or debugging capabilities in boot.ini. It is also used rarely as a method to boot other operating systems, such as Windows 98 or even Linux.
