Where is the CD player in a 1999 mercury cougar?
According to the 1999 Mercury Cougar Owner Guide the six disc CD changer
( if equipped ) is located in the luggage compartment
I tried to install a CD player in my 1999 mercury cougar. It has a 2.5 liter vg engine. Two wires from the car touched while installing the radio and the wires created a spark. Now my car wont start.?
CD players were a luxury item at that time - so this was a option at the time of ordering and purchasing the car. Short answer: not all Sables have the CD player. If it did, you'll find it in the back left corner of the trunk. I don't recall where it is in a wagon model, but see "Related Questions" below for more about that...
depending on the year there are several ways to do this, also depending on whether your putting one in or using a stock one on a newer year car, there is also the premium sound system that can be a severe pain to work on, try asking a more specific question including the year and it may help you get a better answer
Removing single CD player from Tahoe 1999 The entire front dash panel that goes around the stereo and over around the speedometer and gauges unsnaps loose. Then you can get to the CD players sides where you press down on the latches mounted on each side and slide it out, then unplugs from the back of the CD player
take off the dash then you need to unscrew the CD player and pull out the wire. (make sure that you have the harness for the new CD player and for the car.) splice the old wires and reatach them with the new harness wires,(they should be color coded and matched) then plug the new car adapter harness into the harness for the CD player. After all that, plug your antenna adapter into the back…
