According to the 1999 Mercury Cougar Owner Guide the six disc CD changer
( if equipped ) is located in the luggage compartment
most stock CD players or radios have about 200 watts in them unless you upgraded the stero when u got the car
You should try to clean the CD player out the lazer is probably built up with dust
The 2001 Mercury Sable does come with a CD player. If the car does not have a CD player in it, an install kit can be purchased to install a CD player.
The CD player was an option at the time of purchase - which means that many 1997 Mercury Sables do not have CD players.
I believe this means that a disc may be jamming inside the player. I had this happen under warranty and was replaced by my dealer. I will verify in my Mercury Shop manual. Either case, take it to your dealer. You will probably need a new unit.
The CD changer is in the center console of a 2000 Mercury Villager
aprox 300.00 aprox 300.00
It is on the passenger side faceing the drivers side. Kind of hidden in a compartment. Slide the cover open next to the orange button. Press the button to eject.
The CD player if you have one is located inside the Arm Rest Console.
Start by checking all of the fuses in the fuse block. There is a good chance that one of them has blown.
