Where is the GL1500 GL 1500 Engine Neutral Gear Switch located?
Underneath the front cover in front of the transmission. It is part of the gear selector switch. It switches off of the shifter drum.

the switch is inside the back cover, but you should check the shift drum. the end of the shift drum has a slot in which the neutral switch sets in, and on my rancher the end of the shift drum was broke so when the quad is in neutral the switch said it was in gear you pretty much have to completely disassemble the whole engine and tranny to change the shift drum. good luck
The PRNDL (aka Neutral Safety Switch) Switch is located on the Transmission right near where it meets the engine. You will see the arm and shift cable right on top of it when you look below the master cylinder. Make sure voltage to the purple wire of Starter is cut off before you get down there. If you get voltage, your problem is not this switch or the ignition switch.
