The 1991 Corolla does not use a MAF sensor - it is MAP based.
There is not a maf on corollas until the 2000 model
That vehicle does not use a maf sensor.
I4 does not have MAF.

It should in the air filter box or if you have a MAF sensor, the intake air temperature sensor is a part of the MAF.
It's built into the MAF
if the engine is backfiring it will damage the maf,.
