The PCV valve is located on the top of the right (passenger side) valve cover. It's connected via a vacuum line to a port on the front of the throttle body.
On a 2000 Ford Excursion with a V-10 engine, the Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) valve is located on the driver's side valve cover. It is typically positioned near the rear of the engine, connected to the intake manifold by a rubber hose. To access it, you may need to remove some components for better visibility and reach.
It uses an orifice in the right valve cover.
V-6: PCV valve is located below and behind the throttle body, just to the firewall side. It will have two or three hoses plugged into a fitting on the valve. It is easily cleaned and/or replaced.
Standing in front of the auto, the PCV valve is located on your left. The PCV screws into the intake manifold just above the alternator. 1. Remove the two cap screws (10 mm) to remove the intake manifold cover. 2. Remove the PCV hose using needle nose pliers. 3. Use a 17 mm deep well socket to remove the PCV valve from the intake manifold. 4. Install the new PCV valve, PCV hose and intake manifold cover.
Standing in front of the vehicle the PCV is located between the engine and the radiator under the intake manifold. [[Image:http://upload.popularebook.com/?v=2009081316.jpg]][[Image:http://upload.popularebook.com/?v=200908glg.jpg]]Source : http://www.justanswer.com
its on the passenger side valve cover just changed mine this weekend
I have an 01 Chevy 5.3 single cab short bed 4x4. The PCV valve is on the back of the left valve cover.
The PCV valve is on the top of one of the valve covers with a hose extending to the breather assembly. 1986 to 1995 Mustang V-8's have the P.C.V. valve located in the back end of the lower intake manifold. Reach between the upper manifold and the firewall and there should be a vacuum line, about the size of a finger, running down to the lower intake. This is the one going to the P.C.V. valve.
Based on the Ford Ranger Haynes Service Manual for 3.0L and 4.0L 1993 - 2005 engines, the PCV valve is mounted in the valve cover near the brake booster. From the illustration, it doesn't look like it is necessary to remove any manifold parts.
it is located on the right (passenger side) valve cover on your engine
I can tell you its a pain in the rear end. The PCV is located on the rear valve cover. However, they didnt give you enuf room to get to it, or pull it out, or replace it. And if you do get it out, you run a HIGH risk of disconnecting the tube that goes from the PCV valve into the underside of the intake. And then things really become a pain in the rear.
It could be a bad PCV valve. The PCV valve sits in the top of the valve cover and opens and closed to allow the engine to ventilate properly. If it is stuck closed the engine will not vent properly.
