I can tell you its a pain in the rear end. The PCV is located on the rear valve cover. However, they didnt give you enuf room to get to it, or pull it out, or replace it. And if you do get it out, you run a HIGH risk of disconnecting the tube that goes from the PCV valve into the underside of the intake. And then things really become a pain in the rear.
Its in the glove box behind a little black door on the left side. Good luck!
It is a very involved procedure. Get a manual on your car from the parts store or from AUTOREPAIR2000.COM

On the oil pan there is a cap you unscrew, and inside there is a "card board filter", that you would pull out and replace.
to the Owner of the 1986 STE: I own two 1985's STE's and I noticec the PCV valve is on the front valve cover. I hope this will be of some help. Most Sincerely, Kristopher Gerbracht www.kristopher.gerbracht@juno.com
You might try the autozone website or the Pontiac partsman as he might be able to print it out for you, should be a picture of it under the hood of the car or in your owners manual if you still have it.
On the distributor.
The oil filter on a 1990 Pontiac 6000 is located on the driver's side of the engine compartment. It is on the side of the motor all the way to the rear, near the firewall.
there is hose running from the top of the engine to the air intake. your pcv valve is located on the engine side of that hose. Mostly correct except there is no PCV valve; there's just a straight pipe going from the valve cover to the air plenum intake hose. Hope this helps. RJK75
