There were no VIN numbers in 1937. There were manufacture production plates which can be located just about anywhere on the vehicle. Even in the glove box.
The vin plate on a 1955 ford pickup is located on the inside of the glove box door. it is riveted into the back edge of the door so if your glove box door is gone you will be out of luck on that truck.

There is no VIN # on your 1950 Ford. The VIN system did not exist at that time. Look on the firewall, in the glove box, and elsewhere on the truck for a build plate. It will contain all the information the factory put on vehicles of this era.
The VIN is located in two places on a '37 Ford Sedan. Most easily seen, is on the driver's side frame rail top, aprox. 6" forward of the firewall. The second is located on the top of the frame rail, over the the driver's side rear wheel. (This can only be seen w/ the body removed from the chassis.)

The VIN on a '66 F-100 is located on the drivers door. That's where they are on both of mine.
