The expansion valve is located inside the accumulator/dryer. It does not have a separate expansion valve like other cars. The PT Cruiser is classified by Chrysler as a Truck (probably because it gets such poor gas mileage - 18mpg city for a 4 cylinder), not a car. Trucks usually have an accumulator or a liquid line. If you believe the problem to be an expansion valve, replace the dryer.
It goes into the low pressure port. The fitting on the R-134 won't fit on the high side. The low side port is next to the dryer/accumulator. That is the oblong cylinder the AC lines go to/from.
Look on the accumulator or " dryer"
Probably caused by a plugged AC condensation hole. It is at the bottom of the accumulator dryer on the passenger side firewall. The accumulator/dryer looks like a black thermos bottle with a couple of3/8 inch freon lines coming from it.
I think it is on the accumulator/receiver dryer.
The low pressure AC service port can be found on the side of the accumulator/receiver dryer.
It's on the accumulator. Should have a blue cap on it. The accumulator (also called receiver/dryer) is the large aluminum "can" looking part. It will be on the passenger side next to the fender.
It is located on the accumulator reservoir (receiver-dryer) in the front compartment, right-side.
it is on the dryer canister right in front of the coolant overflow tank. It has an electrical connector with to wires on the top of it and it screws onto a port on the accumulator dryer.
It is by the accumulator dryer or shiny thing by the evaporator housing. Be sure to use the correct freon. GoodluckJoe
Its on the Receiver Dryer/Accumulator on the passenger side near the firewall. I found a drawing of this on the site listed below.
You should find it along the passengers fender. It is round can and normally a grayish color metal but may be painted black.
