On my retrofitted to R134-A the fill valve is underneath the airbox. You have to take it out to get to it.

Use a gauge to see how full the system is. Check the fill valve for ant obstruction or damage. While the system could be over full, the most common cause is the fill valve being damaged, or the fill hose not connecting properly.
The Auto button will turn on the AC then set your desired temperature.
Connect a gauge and freon can to the AC low side port of the A4. With the engine running and AC on high, open the freon valve and allow coolant to flow into the system. Turn it off when the gauge reads full.
Connect a freon gauge and can to the low side AC port. Start the car and turn the AC on high. Open the freon valve and fill the system to full on the gauge reading.
Connect a freon gauge and tank to the low side ac port on the 97 Park Ave. with the ac on high and engine running, open the freon valve. Fill the system till the gauge reads full.

what motor do you have. Ther are a couple of schrader valves on all makes. some are on the ac and others are on the fuel lines The ac has 2 and they are on the lines for fill and drain the fule has i think just one and it would be on the fuel rail near the intake manifold. They look like bicycle valve stem
