Hmm... well, there isn't really a zoo that you can adopt an animal and take it home, but each zoo may have an "adoption" service, where you give money to that animal for its care and they give you local updates, or maybe even a little plaque that says you adopted it, but you can't really bring one home. I think it is illegal to have an elephant in your house without a license. Especially endangered animals. Those animals are too risky to give away, and there would be chaos everywhere if they did. Imagine that someone buys a poisonous snake from the zoo and promises they will take care of it, but oops, it is lost, and in the streets. That would be pretty bad... people could die. Also, imagine a hippo that escaped. Wouldn't be too good, would it?
I have no idea but some zoos have adoption programs so maybe go to a zoo with an ocelot and ask to adopt it.Clarification: Zoo adoption programs are a way for the zoo to raise money. When you "adopt" and animal you agree to pay a certain amount of money each month to help feed the animal. The animal stays in the zoo, you do not get to take it home.
When you adopt a panda, you are providing some money every month towards the care of the panda in a zoo. Care for pandas is very expensive. Zoos will provide "adoption certificates" for donors.
Look for animal refuges like Laguna Atascosa National Wildlife Refuge in Texas. Some zoo's may also take animal donations if they have room.

When a person is considering adoption. he or she should look for an adoption agency with a good reputation. They should include open adoption as an option, and provide information about legal rights.
It is not always possible to rescind an adoption. If an adoption has already gone through, you cannot rescind it.
When you adopt without an adoption agency it is called a private adoption.
