Where is the air filter and where is it located on a 2008 Volkswagen passat?

To start, have fun! You have to remove the cover over the engine which will either say 2.5 or 2.0T. It sits under the cover. you also have to disconnect the air intake line, just a normal clamp, then after you get everything unhooked pop the cover off, don't be afraid it won't break, and turn it over, be careful turning it over not to rip any wires. you will find i believe 5 or 6 screws underneath on the cover itself. loosen all of them, you don't have to take it all the way out. and there sits the filter. this takes alot of time and patience, first time i did it, i spent about 40 minutes trying to be careful and not break anything, now i do it in under 10 minutes.
