it is down below the false tank area. takes about 1 1/2 hours to change it the first time. Yea a real pain of a place to put it. You can find detailed instructions by checking out GL1800riders.com or another good site is Steve saunders. Search for it. It is somewhat of an invloved task to change the 1800 air filter, and difficult to explain here.
