First indication is model year. The 379 replaced the 359 in production in 1987, and was manufactured until 2007.

You have to understand that Peterbilt manufactured (and continues to manufacture) trucks from Class 5 to Class 8, and refrigerant capacities will vary between, say, a Peterbilt 330 day cab and a Peterbilt 379 with a sleeper berth and dual AC systems.

The orifice tube is located on the inlet port or the primary evaporator on the passenger side of the firewall. It is nearly hidden behind/between the heater vertical hoses.
