The 1989 Dodge Dakota automatic shutdown relay switch is located in the fuse box. The fuse box can be found in the engine compartment.
Automatic Shutdown Relay
In PDC, two large relays on the B side, closest to the fender. One is the fan relay, one is the ASD relay. It may be labeled "engine relay"
It is abbreviated ASD
On the left fender "drivers side" in front of the strut tower, close to the engine control module/board
It is on firewall underneath brake booster, in a bracket of two relays, the other is fuel pump relay. They are bought and replaced as a pair.
A Chrysler PT Cruiser does not have a reset. The automatic shutdown is a computer controlled relay.
Relays are located behind the battery against the firewall and you do have two under the glove box ,pop it out they are on the right.
You do not have to reset the asd relay. It is controlled by the engine computer automatically.

you need a new distributor, its a very common problem with those cars
