Answer back up sensorsIt was just a few months after I bought my 99 Windstar that I had problems. It always seem to happen after it had rained and when I got to the dealer the problem went away. After numerous trips they seemed to finally resolve the problem.I was told that they used some kind of marine sealant on the sensors. It would appear that when it rained or after I washed the van the sensors would short out. That seemed to work for about 2 years now the problem has returned. The sensors seem to work after a few days of no rain. I think the sealant has broken down.
