Impalas have two catalytics, one on each side attached to each exhaust manifold. There is one o2 sensor before and one after each of the catalytics. The after sensors are easy to see, however the primary sensors can be seen from bottom of car before the catalytics. Mounted into a welded on bung into the pipe with a couple wires attached to each sensor. The reason im telling you this is because i have a 96 impala ss and if your gonna change 1 o2 sensor then you should definatly change all 4 of them well hope this helps you good luck!
It has oxygen sensors before and after the catalytic converter.
Bank one is the side of the engine with cylinder #1. Sensor 2 is after the catalytic converter.
I have a code DTC P0154.Bank 2 Sensor 1 no activity.Which sensor is this on my 96 Blazer?
bank 1 sensor 1 is where the number cylinder side is before the cat so bank 2 sensor 2 is the other side and after the cat
Water temperature sensor.
Locate the sensor on the exhaust system unplug it ,unscrew it and replace it in reverse. Pretty simple. Autozone will lend you a special socket needed to go around the wires if needed
I have a Lexus 96 es300. There are three oxygen sensors on this car. All the sensors are on the exhaust pipe. The first oxygen sensor which is in front of the engine when you open the hood called (bank # 2). The second sensor locates between the back side of the engine and the wall called ( bank # 1). It is very hard to replace if you have a big hand b/c there is not enoght room . The third sensor locates near the catalic convert. You only can see it if you are under the car. Most of the oxygen sensor go bad is the ones between the wall and the back side of the engine (Bank #1). Do not confuse! Bank # 2 locates next to the FAN/RADIATOR. When you check the oxygen sensor, make sure which bank - bank ?I have a Lexus 96 es300. There are three oxygen sensors on this car. All the sensors locate on the exhaust pipe. If you have an oxygen sensor problem then there should be a check engine light "on." Have a repair shop scan and diagnosis the problem. You may not truly have a problem with the oxygen sensor as it could be a vacuum leak that makes the o2 sensor set a code.
96 has 2 one in front. there is no bank2 on I-4 motors S1 is always the front sensor S2 is the rear (behind CAT)
is a 96 impala faster than a 93 corvette
That would be the O2 sensor after the catalytic converter.
bank # 1 is the passenger side of the engine , sensor # 2 is after the catalytic converter ( downstream )
