My 2005 SLK350 has a +ve connector under the bonnet. Its under a red plastic enclosure and has a hinged cover on it. Just access this connector and clip on your charger. You shouldn't need to access the battery.

You can not see the battery simply from opening the hood. But, you can still jump the battery. The positive terminal for the battery is located under a red plastic hatch to the left of the engine. Put the red (+) jumper clamp on this terminal. Then clamp the black (neg) jumper clamp on a bare bolt or piece of metal that is attached to the vehicle. Be careful of the fan blade! Connect the jumpers to the other car. Start the "other car. If possible, have someone "rev" the engine a liittle bit while you (?) fire-up the SLK.

Well the SLK 32AMG is quite fast for the older body style. and the new SLK 55 AMG is INCREDIBLY fast!!! No joke! They stuffed a V-8 in that little car.
The SLK has a timing chain which lasts much longer than a belt.
