Put it in the garden, half in the sun and half in the shade, so as to suit the rabbit better. Grass is better, as they prefer to run on that, rather than concrete. Make sure it is put on pure grass, not mud, or the rabbit will burrow out. Start by only letting it out when you are in the garden, then move on to when you are at home, in case the rabbit likes to burrow out. When you are sure that it won't, you can let it out all day. Dont put them under a tree or next to a shed, as the water runs of that and onto the roof of the hutch. This makes a terrible noise and makes the roof more likely to leak.

Rabbit cages should be placed in your backyard.

The backyard is one spot to put a rabbit cage, but you can also keep the rabbit inside.

To find the right spot for your rabbit cage, you have to think about what rabbits need, and consider all the little factors unique to your home.

There are a lot of possible dangers in the backyard, like bad weather (too hot, too cold, or too wet and windy), predators (racoons, all kinds of dogs, etc), insects and parasites (including some plants, like foxtails), and exposure to bad things in the environment (pollution, pesticides, diseases, bacteria). It's also easy to forget about them.

There are possible dangers inside too, like electrical cords, falling down the stairs or off high furniture, getting caught underfoot (stepped on, kicked, sat on), eating bad food humans have dropped on the floor, eating other things like carpet or drywall, etc.

Wherever you keep them, rabbits need sunshine and fresh air, but shelter from direct sunlight and strong winds. They need to be away from loud noises and chaos, but close to activity and society. They need a big enough cage, plus enough space to run around in when you're there to supervise (at least 3 hours daily). They need toys and structures to play with and to express their natural behaviours with. There should be nothing the rabbit can eat or jump in or on that can hurt him or her.

Indoor rabbit cages can be bought at pet stores, such as Petsmart or Petco. These are typically not expensive, and come in many different size to accomodate different size requirements of the rabbit owners. Cheers.

A good place to buy a rabbit hutch would probably be a farm supply store or a pet store. Many home improvement stores also sell pet supplies like rabbit hutches.

Where do you buy a cheap rabbit hutch from?

If you are looking to spend under £50 on a Hutch you might be better buying materials and making one yourself. Another option would be to look for a 2nd hand hutch through craigslist, freecycle, local papers etc. Another option is to have the rabbit in the house rather than outside (they make Great Housepets) and then buy a rabbit cage which tend to be cheaper than wooden hutches, but not suitable for use outside the house. Or if you are in the North-East call 07758501991 for good quality rabbit hutches for under 50 pounds.

What wire do you use for a rabbit hutch?

Chicken wire is a good wire to use when building a rabbit hutch- I don't know if you in the USA have the same name for it that we do here in England, but I'm referring to that type of flexible wire with hexagonal spaces between the strands that is usually sold in rolls. It's flexible, allows good ventilation, has thin strands that allow the rabbits to put their noses through to sniff the air and make them feel less encaged, but at the same time is galvanised, so is strong and cannot be bitten through. It's also easy to brush down when cleaning out the hutch, and does not trap old straw and other waste products so is healthier for the rabbits too. It can also be used in building runs for them. I have kept rabbits and guinea-pigs for many years, and have always found that chicken-wire is the best value buy.

How much is a rabbit?

It depends on where you go to get one. I never heard of a rabbit over $50. My rabbit costed $15 at my local humane society. When you find a cheaper price, dont dive in and buy the rabbit. Get a rabbit from a place where you know is healthy and nice. The humane society is your best bet. If you go to the bummy places, medical bill will be more costly than the rabbit itself.

Why is a rabbit run appropriate for a rabbit?

First answer: A run is appropriate for a rabbit because so the rabbit can find an better home or get more carrots for their friends. Why rabbit runs and exercise pens are appropriate for rabbits:No matter what kind of cage or hutch your pet rabbit lives in, s/he needs extra space to run around in, exercise, play, and socialize every day, at least 5 hours. Everywhere your rabbit goes has to be safe.Outdoors, your rabbit should be fenced-in. You can buy or make a fenced-in area for your rabbit called a pen or a "run" so that your rabbit has a safe place to play. There are a lot of dangers outside to consider. See the related questions below for more info and links.

Your female rabbit is pulling the hair out of the male rabbits?

You should seperate them, buy a double-storey hutch, lock one upstairs and vice versa. When letting out, make sure they are let out at different times or places. If you want to breed them, I suggest you buy another rabbit to breed with the other gender. That's my advice.

What are the bad things about having a pet bunny?

Nothing if you are educated about their needs. Have a good solid hutch and run. Have checked them out in the shop for health signs. ~Are prepared to spend years taking care of your rabbit. Will be prepared to buy two as they need companionship., Are prepared to insure your rabbit and take it to the vet when it needs to go.
