You have to take the bottom panel from underneath the glove box out(be careful not to break the wire clip that holds the wires in place on that panel). Once you take the panel loose look in the back. You will see the blower motor. Behind the blower motor is the card. You will need a 9/32 for the panel and a 7/32 for the card. It is only 4 screws total to remove and 2 wire harness clips. It is about a 15 minute job.!!

The resistor is on the passenger inside of the car under the dach right in front of the fire wall. The fan blower is right in front of resistor so all you can see if the tip of the resistor. I found it best to work while on my back but this requires you to be agile and not too big or you will find it very difficult. There are four 7/32 screws (3 on fan blower and one on the resistor). You must take the blower out to access/replace the resistor. Overall it took me about 15 minutes tops to replace and the part ran about $30. I also found a website with some pictures that helped to prepare me before I started so that I was familiar with what I was looking at. check under front passenger dash there should be a blower motor visable ,on the blower motor you will see a credit card shaped resistor with wires and is held in by two screws , that is the resistor, remove the two screws and it will drop out of the motor can be purchased at the dealer for under 15 dollars, they have a new and improved design, this has been a problem for many people i change my 2001 durango 3 times in the past 2 years, you may have to move a vent for your feet but is only held in by one or to screws

It is the blower resistor, which is under the passenger side of the dash, remove the cover and look for a card with two bolts and a wire up to it, the part cost about 20 at the dealer, if it blows again, you need to replace the blower motor most likely.

I have a 2001 Frontier 2wd and it is located underneath the blower fan and motor. The blower fan and motor can be acessed by removing about four Phillips screws and the two other phlips screws that hold the glove box latch onto the dashboard. After the glove box is removed you will see the blower motor. Remove the 3 screws holding the motor to the housing. Now you will see the resistor bock card. It is held in place by two silver Philips screws. Remove both wiring harnesses that go to the motor and to the resistor block before removing screws. Press the connnector tab in first to remove connector before removing screws. Good Luck!

On my 1985 Corvette it is located on the top side of the Air Conditioning Evaporator and Blower Motor housing, right side when looking towards the firewall. It has a 4 pin connector and 3 screws hold it to the housing, the resistor coils stick down into the housing to get cooling air. If it is defective or the contacts have corrosion it can cause the blower motor to operate only in the HIGH position. I had a problem where when we shut the car off the fan would continue to run on high speed. I cleaned the contacts on the connector and the fan operates properly now.
