Take off the fuse panel cover on the driver's side. Open the DS door and you'll see the panel cover. Remover that, and there is a bolt towards the bottom of the opening. Remove that and you can remove the rest of the panel from under the steering wheel. You can see the brake light switch without removing the panels, but I have not tried to replace it without taking them off, so you may or may not have to remove the panels to replace the switch. To locate, follow the brake pedal up, and part of the pedal is resting against a bolt with a white housing on top of it. That white part with the bolt attached is the brake light switch. You have to disconnect from the electrical to get it out, but it seems pretty simple. Hope this helps.

There might be a switch attached to the brake pedal. When depressing the brake, at a certain point in the travel of that pedal, it trips a switch, which turns on the brake lights. Have someone check to see if the high mount brake light is or is not coming on, too. Chances are it is that brake light switch.
Brake light switch needs adjusting or replacing. It is too sensitive.
There is no brake light sensor. There is however a brake light switch. It may be mechanical, which would be located somewhere on the brake pedal lever. It can be bad or just out of adjustment. It can also be a pressure switch located on the master cylinder.
It is on a bracket, just above the brake pedal.
