The purge control valve is located behind the rear wheel that is on the same side as the gas tank. By simplysliding under the bumper one can view the canister and the valve.
Its located behind the passenger Head light... its a huge pain to get to...

The EVAP canister purge solonoid on a 1997 Taurus 3.0L OHV is mounted on the firewall on the passenger side between the strut tower and the engine computer multi-plug. Note: you will see the green EVAP test cap on the plastic line that connects to the canister purge solonoid.
the canister vent valve is located behind the spare tire you will have to take the spare tire so you can see it
Behind the rear driverside tire,there is a flap with two screws you have to take out.
The vent control valve is located under the left rear fender and attached to the EVAP Canister, according to NTB96--07b. Good Luck
