The fuses are located behind the panel under the steering column. You'll need a flat screwdriver or coin to undo the latch.

The fuse number could be F16, F16A or F19. You'll need a 20A fuse for F16 and F16A or a 10A fuse for F16.
Trade it in for a Volvo. Or a BMW. Or a Ford. Anything but a Peugeot. I guarantee you this will not be the last thing you fix.
First check your fuse panel to make sure it's not a blown fuse. If fuse is good for the lighter circuit it may be the lighter just went bad. Look at the area that gets hot you will see a wire that goes round and round, if you can see a break in the little wire then the lighter that is the problem.

It is in the fuse box under drivers steering wheel
On a Peugeot 306, the fuse for the rear wiper motor is on the right hand side of the fuse box just under the steering wheel. It should be orange in color.

i had the same problem and it turned out to be my immobilizer had stopped the car from starting
