underneath the intake between the block and lower intake mount
My 1991 740 volvo turbo doesnt start specially during the morning. Is it comes with a cold start valve?
You probably mean Overdrive solenoid, on the transmission left side Hope it's help
Remove the gas line (depressurize it first), and remove the electrical connector. Then remove the two bolts that fasten the valve to the intake manifold. The valve is below the manifold so it is not very easy to access.. Installation of the new one is reverse of the removal.
Broken valve spring
In the 1989 Volvo 740 GL with a Bosch system it is located just above the steering column on the dash.
no spark
Not necessarily, most do however.
I had this problem on my 1989 740 Turbo, random stalls, slowly getting more frequent, Replace the fuel pump relay, it is located behind the ashtray, behind the fuses...
If you have done a compression check the next step is to take off valve cover and look.
i have a 1989 740 and mine is located on under the hood it the green 1 on the side next to the air filter

If you are referring to the RPM riseing and falling by itself (Hunting) you might want to check to see if the intake is clean. I have had problems with my 740 not wanting to idle when the throttle valve area is coated in oil and grime. After using an approved spray cleaner it idled correctly.
