The Keyless Entry Pad Code is located just foward of the drivers side rear access panel where the tire screw jack is located. You must get a bright flash light and shine it on the white plastic box while you gentle pry the side of the plastic interior panel away from it to allow you to read the large black five numbers. You will be laying down on your right side looking forward ( I had to fold the seats down to make it comfortable to do). It was there on my 2000 Mercury Mountaineer and should be the same for the Ford Explorer. The 5 numbers worked perfectly :)
