Yes a connemara is a breed of horse. They are great horses! Actually ponies unless crossed with others such as thourobreds. They are from Ireland and are fantastic jumpers and REALLY NICE!
Connemara.
Around seven feet! A horse named Nugget did that! Most are fantastic jumpers! You wouldn't think so by there size but they are great! If you need a really nice pony/ horse that can jump very well, I highly suggest a connemara!
Connemara Girl was created in 1865.
Connemara RFC was created in 1946.
The highest jump of a Connemara is 1.48 metres
A shetland pony would be the smallest out of a shetland, connemara, or thoroughbred. Shetlands are used for pack horses, and nowadays very popular children's pets because of their fun-loving nature. Shetlands are sometimes considered draft ponies because of their strength despite their small size. --starsun22 the horse maniac
ADDEDIf you want a "registerable" foal then your choices are limited to another Connemara or an Arabian. The Arabian is the only breed with a viable, popular half Arabian market and registry. Well it depends what kind of horse you're looking to get. Connemara x thoroughbred crosses can make good jumpers. It's important to look for a stud that best suits the mare and the discipline you'd like to show the foal in. I wouldn't limit the search to a certain breed.
Connemara is in the west of Ireland. Connemara ponies would be found around Ireland though.
