And the correct answer is the cooling fan relay in reality is called a Pulse Width Modulator and it is located behind the front bumper fascia below the right headlight. Before I went replacing parts I would have a shop diagnosis it . This may not be the answer to your problem. I am a member of the International Automotive Technician Network (IATN) and went on the site and it is said that the relay gives alot of problems. If you tap on the relay and the fan stops then the relay is defective. Hope this helps you.
