Hi,
The temperature sensor itself is locate just in front of the Thermostat Housing, which is just in front of the throttle body.
But the system is a little more "complex" than that, as the sensor feeds the PCM (Powertrain Control Module), which controls a series of relays, which in turn control the cooling fans. So depending on the issue you are having (fans always ON, OFF, or wrong speed), then you or someone else will have to troubleshoot the cooling fan system.
I have included a link that describes the system to assist you.
Where is the temperature cooling sensor located
Where is the camshaft sensor located in 1997 Chevy venture
It has 1 coolant sensor, 1 temperature sensor
where is the speed sensor for the transmission located in 2001 chevy venture
The coolant fan sensor is the same as the sensor that shows the coolant temperature on the dash gauge. It is located on the intake manifold.
Trouble code P0128 means: ECT Sensor Below Thermostat Regulating Temperature
Blown fuse? Bad relay? Bad temperature sensor Bad fan motors? Check to see if the fans are getting power if so motor is bad If not check the above
