It depends on what year it is. I have an 89 Honda Accord LX and my trans takes motor oil (10w 30) and look on the trans for a drain plug when you find it look up on the left hand side and you will see another plug that's the fill to plug this is for a 1989 Honda accord you can use motor oil but u should still use Honda trany fluid it will not make noise like reg oil will and just fill tell it cums out the 2nd plug up to the left from the drain plug nere the cv joint about 2.5 quarts Use MTF in M/Ts Using motor oil in the trans of an M/T-equipped Honda (except a Passport) may cause a moaning noise from the differential when turning left or when accelerating. To avoid this problem, use only Genuine Honda MTF (P/N 08798-9016, H/C 4928271). Not only does MTF contain special additives for smoother shifting, it extends the fluid change interval to 90,000 miles. Capacity 2.6 qt (US) 1. With transmission oil at operating temperature, engine OFF, and car on level ground, remove drain plug and drain transmission. 2. Reinstall drain plug with new washer, and refill to proper level. NOTE: Drain plug washer should be replaced at every oil change. On the passenger side of the transmission, there is a drain plug on the bottom that takes a 3/8 drive ratchet to remove. Above this and to the left next to the CV axle is another plug for filling. Fill the oil to just below this top hole and transmission will be full
