no dip stick. sealed transmission
The automatic trans is a sealed unit with no trans dipstick.
Motorcraft MERCON - V - automatic transmission fluid ( I believe it is stamped into the automatic transmission dipstick )
According to the 1998 Lincoln Navigator Owner Guide : ( Motorcraft MERCON automatic transmission fluid ) * the type of fluid used should be engraved in the automatic transmission fluid dipstick or indicated on the dipstick handle *
Same place you check the fluid level. Some have sealed transmissions, there is no dipstick, there is a red knob on top of transmission that says transmission fluid
On an automatic, the fluid goes down the dipstick tube. On a manual, the fluid goes in the check hole on the side of the transmission.
How do I check transmition fluid n 98 vw jetta vr6 2.8
In the same place as the dipstick is located. Use a funnel.
I got 2 gallons of transmission fluid... Use one gallon then keep checking the dip stick for the fluid to rise.
On a 1998 Ford Explorer : The automatic transmission fluid dipstick is located near the firewall , on the passenger side of the engine , in the engine compartment Pull out the dipstick and use a funnel to add transmission fluid ( the type used should be engraved into the dipstick )
through the dipstick tube. using a small pointed funnel.
You pour it through a thin necked funnel into the dipstick tube
Usually, I would remove the dipstick for the transmission and a funnel that is small enough to fit in there and that's how I add transmission fluid. You have to make sure you add the right amount and use the specified transmission fluid for that car.
