The oil dipstick is right up front, center. It is built into the lid covering the
oil fill tube. Just unscrew and pull it straight up.
The transmission dipstick is located near the firewall, down from the
brake master cylinder.
The transmission dipstick on a 1994 Pontiac Sunfire is located on the left side of the engine. It connects to the transmission via a long tube which also allows for adding transmission fluid.
there is not one
Well, Pontiac didnt make a sunfire in 1994 is it a 95 sunfire or 94 sunbird?
in the trunk or under your back seat
7 quarts
My 96 Sunfire has no red cap, it has a regular dipstick. You'll want to find a small funnel. The fluid goes where the dipstick is supposed to be. I would also go to the parts store and get a new dipstick.
Try under the oil cap, oddly enough.
Some early model Sunfires have a dipstick. In my '96, the dipstick is located near the firewall, down and inboard from the brake fluid reservoir.
The oil dipstick is built into the oil filler cap. Unscrew the cap, pull the dipstick out, wipe it dry and reinsert it. Remove it again to read the oil level.
Pontiac does not make a transmission dipstick, unless the newer ones have them. Actually, the early models did. My '96 had one. Later models did not. The trans fluid is checked via a plug in the side of the trans-axle.
If it's similar to earlier models, the oil dipstick is built into the oil filler cap. Unscrew the cap, pull the dipstick out, wipe it dry and reinsert it. Remove it again to read the oil level.
I would doubt that you can find an aftermarket dipstick. I'd scour the junkyards. You might find one through a dealership, but they'll want an arm and a leg for it.
