As you are looking at the engine the bolt is on the left back side towards the fire wall, it might be covered by dirt/oil. It is about 2 inches down from the bottom of the distributer cap. Try using some air to clean it off a littlehope this helps. 10mm wrench I think. Hope this helps

cam timing will not change ignition timing i would try 8 or 10 degees advance at idle with the vacuum advance disconnected.
The timing for the 1977 225 slant 6 cylinder should be set at 2 degrees before top dead center. This applies to both the manual and automatic transmissions.
Use a timing light. Attach to batt & number 1 wire, Loosen distributor clamp & turn while simultaneously shooting the balancer. Set to specs for engine (usually a few degrees advanced) Tighten distributor clamp. Set at idle speed.
