If your car has the V6 the distributor is in the space between the heads ad the bell housing end of the engine.
If your car has the 4 cylinder engine the distributor is below the intake manifold on the bell housing end of the motor. If it is a distributor-less engine the ignition control module is where the distributor would have been. Either way you can follow the spark plug wires to it.
On the 2.8L V6 the distributor cap is held on with two screws. Unscrew the two screws and pull straight up on the distributor cap to remove it from the distributor.
The firing order on a 1986 Chevrolet Celebrity V6 is: 1-2-3-4-5-6.
The 1988 Chevrolet Celebrity uses distributor-less ignitions. Timing is controlled by the ECM, there is no provision for adjustments.

The taillights are supposed to go on when the headlights are activated.
Chevrolet Celebrity was created in 1982.
If your car has the "X" engine with carburetter the fan switch is in the intake manifold more or less in front of the distributor. If your car has the "W" engine with fuel injection the fan switch is in the top of the thermostat outlet.
Your engine has distributor-less ignition. The spark timing is controlled by the ECM, there is no provision for adjustment.
The last year the Chevrolet Celebrity was produced was 1990, not 1992. And although there were some minor changes, the car was largely unchanged between 1986 and 1990. The standard I-4 engine is exactly the same, as well as the frame and body. I believe the headlight arrangements may have changed, as well as some of the dash detailing and the standard radio, but overall the car is largely the same.

The fuse box is on the bottom of the dash on the right side of the steering column.
